The F2-course

The F2-course, used for scalemodels, consists of a triangle of 30 x 30 x 30 meter. The gates have a width of 1 meter. The baseline is situated at 10 meter distance from the startingplace.

You have to finish the course within 7 minutes. The time starts when passing the first gate. The last gate has to be sailed in reverse and finally a docking procedure has to be performed. During the run you are not allowed to touch a bouy or to miss a gate. A clear run results in 100 points (including a right docking procedure).

There is a subdivision in 3 classes.

F2-parcours

You may enter the dock from the left or the right. The dock is devided in two by means of a cross-bar. During entering of the dock the sides and the cross-bar may not be touched. The model must be lie completely still for 3 seconds with the bow in a rectangle. To start this time the captain has to cry 'STOP" and is not allowed to touch his transmitter for the next 3 seconds. In the dockingarea 3 rectangles are indicated, one for each class.

The big F2C-models have to enter the dock the farthest.

The width of the dock is ajustable, dependent on the modelwidth.

The next table gives the dockfactors. The dockwidth is the modelwidth plus the dockfactor from the table. All values are given in mm.

POINTS

Every gate, that is correctly passed gives a number of points (6 of 9). When touching a bouy (at the inner side of the gate) you get 2 or 3 penalty points. Missing the gate will result in getting no points. You are not allowed to try passing that gate correctly again.Reverse navigating through the last gate results in 12 points. As a bouy is touched you get 4 penalty points. All points are given in the next table.

A perfect docking procedure gives 10 points as shown in the table. 5 points will be subtracted when one of the next mistakes is made:

When two (or more) of these mistakes are made no dockingpoints are given.

Hopefully you gained some knowledge after reading this story about the F2 course.
