The Condor-9 is a wave-piercing catamaran ferry. It was built by Aluminium Shipbuilders Ltd. in Great Britain and is based at Weymouth. The ferry can carry up to 450 passengers. Her four diesel engines each rated at 1680 kw operate water jet propulsion systems which are capable of accelerating the ship to a maximum speed of 42 knots (lightly loaded).

The semi-scale model of the Condor-9 has been designed to a scale of 1 : 45 and is based on original drawings provided by the Condor shipping company. The model consists of a bottom section, a top section and superstructure all vacuum-moulded ABS plastic. Although the kit is highly pre-fabricated, the model is primarily intended foor the experienced modeller.
