| The Cruiser class was the most numerous of wooden sailing warships
ever built. Depicted by Caldercraft in its original configuration of eighteen
six-pounder carriage guns, this brig sloop was fast and very seaworthy,
playing a very effective role in the Napoleonic wars. This performance
was further enhanced when sixteen of the carriage guns were replaced with
32-pounder carronades.
Built at Ipswich and launched in December 1797, Cruiser had over twenty years service with the Royal Navy before being sold in 1819. ----- Le kit très détaillé est destiné aux maquettistes ayant une petite expérience, toutes les pièces sont découpées sur machines numériques pour assurer une grande précision d'assemblage, construction par double bordé.
