| A typical British Frigate of Nelson's period, HMS Diana was of the
Artois class of 38 gun heavy Frigate of which eight were built in the class.
Diana had a very long and active career during the Napoleonic wars. In
1815 she was sold to the Dutch Navy and on 27th August 1816 she was one
of six Dutch Frigates which took part in the bombardment of Algiers. She
was destroyed by accidental fire on the 16th January 1839 after achieving
an astonishing 45 year service.
Diana is the first of a series of Exact Scale 'plank on frame' kits from
Caldercraft which will cover the period 1765 to 1815.
Keel and bulkheads are CNC cut in high quality birch ply as are all the
major constructional parts. Extensive use of CNC cut walnut has been employed
for the majority of visible structures and fittings.

the construction process with many hints and tips to assist you along the

Le Diana fut lancé le 3 Mars 1794 comme navire de patrouille et
d'escorte des flottes marchandes. Il eut une très longue carrière
dont le fait le plus remarquable fut l'araisonnement du "Cromhout". Suite
au traité de paix entre l'Angleterre et la France, le Diana fut
rénové et vendu à la marine hollandaise. Il fut accidentellement
détruit par les flammes le 16 Janvier 1839.
Le kit est très détaillé, toutes les pièces
sont découpées sur machines numériques pour assurer
une grande précision d'assemblage, construction par double bordé.
Les accastillages en bois et en métal sont fournis d'origine, un
jeu de plans très détaillés et une notice facilitent
également le montage du modèle.
