| The 'Empire Ivy' was built in 1942 at the Goole shipbuilding and Repair
Company as one of the Warrior Class. Subsequently sold in May 1946 to the
Clyde Shipping Company Ltd. of Glasgow, and renamed the 'Flying Tempest',
where she served for 16 years before being sold to an Italian company and
eventually scrapped in 1986.
Either model, Admiralty or Civilian can be built from the same kit. The only difference being in the wheelhouse and the colour scheme. The kit is to the usual high standards of all Mountfleet models and includes colour illustrated building manual, GRP hull, Superstructure Boats and Funnel, numerous other materials, full size plans, historical notes and, of course, over 750 white metal fittings. |
