| The prototype of this Dean's Marine kit was launched in 1982 as the
President 184 and has a near sistership named Ambassador 11, both built
in Denmark.She is fitted out as an overnight lorry ferry with accomodation
and has twin loading ramps on the stern. She was renamed Mercandian President
84 and then a third time as Mercandia President, when she was transferred
onto the Poole to Vlissingen ferry route carrying containers and Hi-cube
trailers.
The model is based on a complex grp hull moulding up to bridge deck level, including all post and rubbing strip detail. The bulwarks along the main car deck are part of this moulding. The kit is complete with all bridge structure in 1 mm printed plastic, all fittings including the hydraulic winches and loading doors, and running gear. There is a comprehensive instruction book ans a full size plan to assist builders and a colour chart and set of pre-cut decals of the company name. |
