The Vliestroom and her sisterships Schuitengat and Nieuwe Diep were
built in 1988 / 1990 by Damen of Holland for the Ministry of Transport.
Our model is based on the full-size Vliestroom which operates out of Hellevoetsluis
near Rotterdam.
The kit will contain the usual high quality detailed glassfibre hull,
with styrene for decks and superstructure, small rear deck Hiab crane and
resin dinghy, set of buoys, large detailed deck crane, a sheet of etched
brass handrail stanchions and other components, whitemetal fittings, propshaft,
brass propellers and steerable nozzles. Also included in the kit will be
a large number of step by step assembly instructions and full size plans,
together with a set of photographs.
The photo shows you the model on her maiden voyage on 20th July. Even
without a working bow thruster we found her performance oustanding due
to the steerable nozzles.
In the UK the kit price will be in the region of £200 - 250.
