The international one meter class
Sailing yachts

The One Metre class is the newest yet fastest growing international class.
It is administered by the International Sailing Federation - Radio Sailing
Division (ISAF-RSD, formerly named the IYRU-MYRD). The class
rules are very tight and limit yachts to two channel control and three
one design rigs. Hull, ballast, draught and construction materials are
also limited. There is sufficient freedom to allow different hull and fin/rudder
shapes to be developed.
The tight rules for the One Metre class allow beginners to produce competitive
yachts, and to keep costs down. Maximum length is 1 meter, mast height
is 1.7 meters and weight is 4 kg.
